Sustainable Delta
Animation to introduce / promote "Sustainable Delta: a serious game about water management under uncertainty".
What is, given the uncertainties about the future, a sustainable water management plan? The game, Sustainable Delta, helps participants to learn about preparing for an uncertain future.
In this game a group of participants has the assignment to develop a sustainable water management plan for a river delta. Once the future unfolds, the participants experience what happens in the delta and its environment. Was there a flood or a drought event? What is the opinion of inhabitants? What happened in other countries? Do you need to adapt the water policies?

Pathways for an uncertain future
The adaptation pathways approach supports policymakers and planners to manage uncertainty. The approach includes exploring different routes into the future for a range of possible futures. This facilitates sustainable decision making about major investments that are required to manage our water for generations to come.

Adaptive Planning
Climate change threatens people living in delta areas all over the world. Climate change, land subsidence, increasing population and economic development increase the risk of floods and droughts. Through Adaptive delta management Deltares supports the assessment of impacts and the development and implementation of adaptation measures. Taking into account the uncertainties surrounding climate change and socio-economic developments, what are preferable and financially accountable investments in your area?
